Our staff strives to leave our natural areas native and allow native plants to flourish – only mowing and spraying invasive weed communities. They are home to a variety of wildlife, birds and plants. Our open spaces are undeveloped natural areas recognized by their mixed grass prairie environment. The Metro District manages 2,644 acres of open space areas in the community and maintains more than 70 miles of trail. ![]()
